Baby Girl Mini Scrapbooks

I was commissioned to create these 2 beautiful Baby Girl Mini Scrapbooks.

They were such fun to create and I would love to be able to create more of these to sell on my Etsy store, coming soon.

 I made my own mini albums by cutting down A4 files and covered them in fun covers. I then printed  the pages onto card-stock and joined 2 together to create a pocket, by leaving the top section open.  The next step was to create pockets for each month of the year to save all those precious memories from babies first year.  I stuck embellishments on each page, leaving space to add photos and to write little notes.  Some of the embellishments were also left to flap over for more little notes. A little trade secret:  I used Graphic Stock files and other ephemeral which I had in stock. 

I think that you can agree that these are just too adorable for Babies First Year.

MEMORABLE OCCASIONS CELEBRATED

What an eventful time, I've had these last 3 months. In summary, I have celebrated my DH (Darling Husband's) 50th Birthday, Our 25th Wedding Anniversary, Easter and Mother's Day.

As I live in Cape Town and my DH in Abu Dhabi, we commute. He is a Pilot, and although, I had lived here for 5.5 years, I was able to return to my Mother City, Cape Town for our Daughter to complete here High School. Now usually, I would not visit DH for such a length of time as our youngest is still at school in her final year and she would usually accompany me to visit her Dad during the school holidays, however, it was not possible this time and our oldest, very kindly offered to move back home and care of his Sister.  I was due to fly back to South Africa after spending 3 weeks in Abu Dhabi, remain there for 4 weeks and fly back for an extra 2 weeks for our Italian Trip.  Well, I have remained for the whole time as my children are just so AMAZING and told me not to worry, that all, including the Dog, were perfectly fine and that I should stay and spend time with Dad (to prepare for our next chapter - as I am returning to the Sandpit in a year, sans children). 

I wanted to share with you the sights of Abu Dhabi and Dubai through my iPhone 6S lens. I had forgotten to pack my Nikon D3100 :(

For those of you not familiar with Abu Dhabi, it is the Capital of the UAE with 7 Emirates and Dubai being one of them.  The UAE has a Vision, which aims to make the UAE among the best countries in the world. As you will view from the Images, no costs are spared in making this Vision become a reality.

Now, I really do need to go and pack for my next Adventure... We are going to Italy, to celebrate our 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary, which I shall share with you soon. "Arrivederci"

HAPPY EASTER

It has been a long absence due to family matters, however, I'm hoping that those issues are now resolved and I can continue with my Creativity. I have missed working in my studio and look forward to returning to it soon.

I created this painting last year in honour of our family pet, Hopsy. Whilst living in the UAE, my children had been desperate for a pet, and continued to nag us for one. We have always had pets and obviously my husband and I eventually gave in, as a home without pets is a lonely one. Not long after we said okay did we inherited a tortoise, Chloe and soon after, Hopsy was added to the family. However, they were adamant that they also wanted a dog. Strays of Abu Dhabi was where we fell in love with Snowy, a Saluki and she joined our family of pets. 

Sadly, before the children and I left the UAE, Hopsy passed away. This is a tribute to her as she gave us much joy in her short time on earth.  Unfortunately, Chloe was not able to travel with us and she found a new home. Snowy is currently living the life in Cape Town, with us, and enjoys her walks on the beach.
